Mindfulness for Modern Life

One Life Mindfulness courses take an evidence-based approach to learning Mindfulness. These friendly and relaxed courses are available online and in-person in Leeds. I believe the many recognised benefits of mindfulness are available to anyone, given the right guidance and support.

The 8-week MBSR Course

I regularly run the in-person, 8-week Mindfulness Course in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. The course is based on the gold standard, Jon Kabat-Zinn Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme and is the most recognised and established mindfulness course, taught all over the world.

It is an evidence-based programme and scientifically proven to help people cope better with stress, anxiety, and pain. Course participants report feeling calmer, less stressed, more grounded, and having a more positive outlook on life.

The next course will be in January 2025, if you would like me to contact you when it’s available to book, please sign up for my mailing list (below).

If you would like a relaxed chat with me about mindfulness training where I can answer any questions before you make a decision, please use my contact form. It’s free and there’s no obligation to sign up for anything.

Concessions and the option to pay for your course in 3 instalments are available. Please contact me for details.

About One Life Mindfulness

One Life Mindfulness offers 8 week mindfulness courses in person and online, throughout the year. The courses are delivered by Toby Wiltshire, a BAMBA registered mindfulness teacher who has trained with Mindfulness UK and The UK College of Mindfulness Meditation. Toby has practiced mindfulness for 18 years.

It’s important when setting out on this journey that you choose a recognised mindfulness program. Our courses are based on the gold standard Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn, which is the most researched and evidence based of all the 8 week mindfulness programmes. MBSR programmes are taught and recognised worldwide.

You will learn to recognise how often our minds run on autopilot, and practise bringing Mindfulness to the present moment. A range of Mindfulness practices and exercises will help you to be able to respond more skilfully when stress and difficulties arise and engage with what is most important to you. These skills will enable you to be present, feel calmer and enjoy greater depths of wellbeing.

  • “Toby is a friendly and inspiring mindfulness teacher who brings his wealth of knowledge to lead you through the practice. He also supports this instruction with insightful readings and study recommendations that help motivate and guide you in your journey.”

    - T. Page

  • “I joined Toby’s mindfulness group during a period of transition in my life. His approach has helped me to manage these changes in a more mindful, healthy way; noticing how I’m feeling, being kinder and less judgemental of myself, responding instead of reacting to the daily stresses life throws our way.

Toby has years of mindfulness practice and he guided us to explore different styles of mindfulness / meditation. He is great at helping you figure out what works best for you. I really recommend joining one of Toby’s courses.”

    - Catherine

  • “Toby is a good teacher, I like the tone and register with which he delivers the guided meditations. Since taking the 8 week course I’ve been able to rapidly de-stress”

    - Ryan

  • “Toby is clearly an experienced meditation and mindfulness practitioner who practices what he preaches. Through sharing his own personal journey and experiences he acts as a guide, offering insight that draws from a broad spectrum of different types of meditation and mindfulness practices. Debates and discussions were particularly useful to help me understand which ideas and methods of mindfulness meditation were most suitable for me. Having recordings of meditations and body scans that I could access at any time were also a huge help in developing my practice outside of the weekly group sessions.”

About Toby

Hi, I'm Toby. I'm a qualified and BAMBA-registered mindfulness teacher with over 18 years of experience in mindfulness and meditation.

Mindfulness transformed my life after a series of traumatic losses, helping me find peace and relief from anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Inspired by Jon Kabat-Zinn's work, I became a certified mindfulness teacher in 2021, specializing in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

I mostly teach MBSR in group settings, in-person and online, but I'm also available for one-on-one sessions. As a parent and business owner, I understand the pressures of a busy life. Mindfulness has been my anchor, and I’m passionate about sharing its benefits with others.

I aim to bring a warm, friendly, and creative approach to mindfulness teaching. Let's explore mindfulness together!

“Have you ever had the experience of stopping so completely, of being in your body so completely, of being in your life so completely… That is a taste of mindfulness.”

—Jon Kabat-Zinn
